You Need to Read This Book...

A good job search guidebook is hard to come by. I have flipped through numerous job search books and most of it is very brief and serves more as a motivational book rather than a strategic guidebook. This "Teach Yourself" series on Job Hunting is a result of a team from a recruitment background.




What I love about this book:

1. It is separated by days. If you follow the timeline closely, you are able to stick to the 4 weeks duration and get yourself an awesome experience in job hunting.
2. It covers 4 major aspects of job hunting - resumes preparation, how to job hunt, preparing a cover letter and how to ace your job interview.
3. The information is very detailed and the guidance is thorough (not touch & go advice). 
4. It comes with a "Facts check-list" where you can evaluate your readiness for job hunting.
5. Examples of what to write on your resume or say during an interview are readily given in the guide. 

This book is RM49.90 and available at Kinokuniya. The next time you receive your BR1M voucher for books, be sure to include this book in your loot. Even if you purchase it out of your own pocket money, I am sure it is going to be an investment that worth pursuing (you need to invest your time to read and follow the guide as well).
